| Kiwi Safaris offers the most experienced guides for bow hunting in New Zealand! If you look at the latest SCI Bow Hunting Record Book, you will see that we have taken 9 of the top 10 Tahr in the World with a bow. We have 3 experienced bow hunting guides on staff and we have taken every animal in New Zealand apart from the Whitetail with a bow. We normally do about 15-20 bow hunts a year.
The bow hunting market is the fastest growing market for us and our properties are ideally set up for bow hunts. We even have a bow range onsite and several of our guides are active bow hunters themselves.
Donald Van De Steene with his 46 and 5/8ths SCI Tahr currently holds number 1 placing followed by Gary Hunsicker with 45 and 2/8ths, Julian Nicholson with 44 and 5/8ths, Byron Sadler with 44 and 1/8th and Bill MacCarty with 43 and 5/8ths.
We encourage our bow hunters to come early in the season from late February through to May as the days are longer, the game is more settled and the access is excellent to our properties at that time of year.
We have taken every animal in the South Pacific with the bow apart from the Whitetail and have also had several hunters who have achieved their Diamond levels with us using the bow. Byron Sadler is one such hunter and he has only the Sika and Whitetail to go before he completes his grand slam.
We use the spot and stalk method of hunting, plus we also have a few blinds in strategic spots.

All our guides carry laser range finders and typically shots are between 25-40 yards.
Mike Freeman of Kiwi Safaris is also a past winner of the World Bow Hunters chapter award for Professional Outfitter of the year.
Global Sporting Safaris is an authorized U.S. Booking Agency for Kiwi Safaris New Zealand.
