There are many different types of game that can be added to any red stag hunt in Argentina. Most game can be hunted on a year round basis except the game that drops their antlers. Antlered game can be hunted from late February thru the end of July. SCI Hunters looking to establish and Inner Circle or Grand Slam awards have the opportunity to complete up to Diamond Level on one trip with our abundance of game species. PUMA HUNTING IN ARGENTINA |
The Argentine Puma (aka Cougar or Mountain Lion) is hunted in the same general terrain as the Red Stag and most of the other trophy game. The Puma is hunted with dogs in areas pre-scouted by the head guide. The Puma is normally treed by the dogs where the hunter can come in for the harvest. | WILD BOAR HUNTING IN ARGENTINA |
The Argentine Boar or Wild Pig is hunted in the same general terrain as the Red Stag and most of the other trophy game. We offer two ways to hunt the Boar. If you want to hunt the Boar with a Knife or Spear, we will use dogs to track across areas frequented by the boar. These are areas pre-scouted by the head guide.
For those who want to hunt boar with rifle, there are blinds strategically located close to mud holes. Here, the Boar come during the night to drink. Hearing his sound, the guide determines if it is a good trophy. In that moment, the hunter shoots. Full moon night are the best nights to hunt them, it´s an amazing. | ARGENTINA WATER BUFFALO HUNTING |
The Argentina Water Buffalo hunts take place in marshes and wet areas with small rivers or streams. The areas can be flat to hills. This is a spot and stalk hunt with your guide. Once a good bull is located, the hunter must make a very precise shot or the buffalo will charge. The guide will back up the hunter in case of a full on charge. | ARGENTINA BLACKBUCK HUNTING |
The Argentine Blackbuck is hunted in the same general terrain as the Red Stag and most of the other trophy game. The blackbuck will normally stick to the open areas away from trees making a stalk more chalanging.Hunting the Blackbuck is much like hunting the North American Pronghorn Antelope. The Argentina Axis Deer and Fallow Deer are hunted in the bushes and in a forest of trees named “Calden”. The approach must be done walking, after arriving to the general hunting area by truck. Hunters are going to walk between 2 to 4 hours on each outing. Most shots are in the 40 to 70 yard area. For those who want to hunt with bow, closer approaches can be done.
